Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

These terms govern your use of DClaw Forecast. By creating an account you agree to them.

The service

DClaw Forecast turns historical time-series into forecasts with an uncertainty range, using statistical methods (trend, seasonality, and model backtesting). Every number shown is computed from your data, from the public data described below, or clearly labelled as an illustrative example.

Forecasts are estimates, not guarantees

No forecasting model can guarantee future outcomes. Forecasts and ranges are estimates derived from patterns in historical data. You are responsible for the decisions you make using them, and should treat the uncertainty range as an inherent part of every forecast.

Your account

  • Keep your login credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate account information and use the service lawfully.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

Your data

You retain ownership of the data you upload. You grant us permission to store and process it solely to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to upload the data you provide.

Public data in the Lab

The Forecast Lab and the Workspace's Real data use public sources, each named on screen: weather from the Open-Meteo archive (ERA5 reanalysis, licensed CC BY 4.0, with attribution shown), and US economic and market series from FRED (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis). Index values are © their owners (S&P Dow Jones Indices, Nasdaq) and are shown for your own learning and analysis; don't redistribute them. These sources can be late, revised or briefly unavailable; the Lab then offers its labelled sample data.

AI answers

The Copilot and “Say it in words” can use a language model (Claude). It is told to answer only from your forecast's numbers, but AI answers can still be wrong: check them against the numbers on screen. Each account has a daily number of AI answers (currently 30); after that a built-in explainer answers instead.

Limits, export and ending your account

To keep the service available to everyone, each account keeps up to 50 saved series, 100 saved forecasts, its newest 30 Lab experiments and 500 Beat-the-model rounds, and requests that are unusually large or frequent may be refused. You can download all of your data, or delete your account and everything in it, at any time from Your data & account. We may suspend an account that abuses the service.

Availability and changes

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We may update these terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DClaw Forecast is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on a forecast. Forecasts are decision support, not a substitute for your own judgement.

This is a good-faith starter agreement, not legal advice. Have it reviewed against your jurisdiction and business needs before relying on it commercially.
